Iga Świątek’s proven clay-court pedigree as a four-time Roland Garros champion keeps her atop the field, yet Aryna Sabalenka’s strong overall 2026 form and Coco Gauff’s status as defending champion create a narrow gap at the top of the implied probabilities. Recent clay-court results highlight the parity: Świątek has advanced deep in Rome with straight-sets wins over Naomi Osaka and Jessica Pegula, while Sabalenka suffered an early exit to Sorana Cirstea after a Madrid quarterfinal loss to Hailey Baptiste. Elena Rybakina’s consistent baseline power and Mirra Andreeva’s rising results add further layers of uncertainty. With no single player dominating the current clay swing and several contenders holding historical or recent success on the surface, the market reflects a genuinely open race where small shifts in form or injuries could quickly reshape the leaderboard before the May 18 start.
