Rising component costs, especially memory chips up roughly $150 per unit amid surging AI demand, form the main driver pushing trader expectations for a $200-plus price increase on the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple CEO Tim Cook publicly noted in June 2026 that such hikes are unavoidable, following similar increases on Macs and iPads, while analysts now project a $1,299 starting price versus the prior $1,099. Bill-of-materials estimates show nearly $300 higher costs for higher-storage variants, pressuring margins despite Apple's premium positioning against rivals. The September 2026 launch event remains the key catalyst that will confirm exact pricing and storage tiers before resolution.
