The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs renew their heated NL Central rivalry with a series at Wrigley Field in mid-May, where the Cubs hold a narrow lead in the standings at 28-16 compared to Milwaukee’s 24-17 mark. Chicago’s addition of Alex Bregman has bolstered an already potent lineup, while both clubs navigate significant pitching injuries—Milwaukee without Brandon Woodruff and dealing with day-to-day concerns for Christian Yelich and Jacob Misiorowski, and the Cubs managing absences in their rotation and bullpen. Recent form shows the Cubs leveraging home advantage and depth, though Milwaukee’s resilient offense and bullpen stability keep contests competitive. Weather, probable starters, and late roster moves will further shape these divisional matchups.
