This competitive balance reflects the depth of top National League prospects, where scouting evaluations, minor-league production, and positional versatility create similar upside profiles without a clear breakout frontrunner. Traders are pricing in the typical uncertainty of how quickly these players translate their skills to the majors, along with variables like promotion timelines and midseason performance swings. Historical patterns show rookies often surge late in the year, keeping the field wide open until stronger statistical separation emerges.
