Walker Kessler enters restricted free agency amid reported friction with the Utah Jazz over contract value, with the team offering roughly five years and $140 million while he seeks more after limited 2025-26 play due to shoulder surgery. His public statements affirm a desire to remain in Utah, yet league sources note he has explored options outside the organization. As a restricted free agent, the Jazz retain matching rights on any offer sheet starting July 1, limiting realistic movement unless a sign-and-trade materializes with interested suitors such as the Lakers. Widespread market pricing near 50% across dozens of teams and “Other” reflects this core uncertainty, with trader consensus pricing in the Jazz’s leverage, Kessler’s leverage through restricted status, and the slim but open paths to relocation.
