**Traders see the price of the featured Pikachu ex (likely the high-profile Special Illustration Rare from the recent Ascended Heroes set) trending downward by August 31 at a 75.5% implied probability.** The primary driver is the cooling of initial post-release hype following the August 7 launch of the First Partner Illustration Collection—Series 3, which added fresh supply and diverted collector attention toward newer chase cards. In the TCG market, strong early demand for premium Pikachu ex variants often peaks within the first 1–2 weeks before profit-taking and additional sealed product openings push raw and graded prices lower. With the much-anticipated 30th Celebration expansion set for a worldwide September 16 drop, many traders are conserving capital or rotating into upcoming anniversary products, reducing immediate buying pressure on existing high-value Pikachu ex cards. Historical patterns in modern Pokémon TCG releases show similar short-term corrections after mid-month launches when no major tournament or promotional spikes occur. The market consensus reflects this predictable post-hype dip rather than any fundamental shift in the card’s long-term appeal.
