Iga Swiatek heads into the Internazionali BNL d'Italia semifinals with resurgent clay-court form, dismantling fifth seed Jessica Pegula 6-1, 6-2 in the quarters for her first top-10 win and semifinal of 2026, signaling a return to her 'Queen of Clay' dominance as a three-time Rome champion. Elina Svitolina, the seventh seed ranked No. 10, earned her spot via a gritty comeback upset over Elena Rybakina 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, saving 16 break points en route to her first Rome semifinal since 2018 when she won back-to-back titles. Swiatek leads the head-to-head 4-2 overall and 2-0 on clay, though Svitolina won their most recent hard-court meeting at Indian Wells; no injuries reported on the outdoor Foro Italico clay.
