Janice Tjen, ranked No. 40 with a career-high of No. 36 earlier this season, faces lower-ranked Caijsa Hennemann in the opening round of the WTA clay-court event in Rabat. Tjen brings stronger recent results at the tour level, including multiple wins on the surface this year, while Hennemann has advanced through qualifying with a mix of ITF and early main-draw successes. Their styles contrast on the slower clay, where Tjen’s consistent baseline play and break-point conversion rates give her the edge in a matchup that favors experience over raw power. Recent form shows Tjen holding serve more reliably in comparable events, though both players remain capable of extended rallies typical of the surface.
