The St. Louis Cardinals hold a clear edge in this interleague matchup at home, entering with a 25-18 record that places them third in the NL Central while the visiting Kansas City Royals sit at 19-25, fifth in the AL Central. Recent form favors St. Louis after a 4-3 road trip, though they dropped the May 15 opener in 11 innings. Michael Wacha anchors the Royals’ staff with a 4-2 mark and 2.63 ERA, but Kansas City’s lineup is thinned by Jonathan India’s season-ending shoulder surgery and multiple bullpen absences. Dustin May takes the ball for the Cardinals despite a 3-4 record and 4.85 ERA. Home-field advantage, superior team health, and overall win percentage continue to shape trader consensus around the series outcome.
