Katarzyna Kawa brings strong recent form into this Roland Garros qualifying clash on clay, highlighted by her WTA 125 title win in Huzhou where she dropped just one set across the tournament. The 33-year-old Pole holds a 13-10 record in 2026 with a 13-7 mark on clay, giving her clear experience against the surface and higher-level opponents. Ayana Akli, a younger American, arrives with mixed ITF results and no prior meeting against Kawa, though she has shown solid return stats in recent months. The match pits Kawa’s established clay-court consistency and ranking edge near 139 against Akli’s potential to compete in a best-of-three format, where first-set momentum and break-point conversion could prove decisive on the slower Parisian courts.
