The 33-year-old Pole holds a 13-10 record in 2026 with a 13-7 mark on clay, giving her clear experience against the surface and higher-level opponents. Ayana Akli, a younger American, arrives with mixed ITF results and no prior meeting against Kawa, though she has shown solid return stats in recent months. The match pits Kawa’s established clay-court consistency and ranking edge near 139 against Akli’s potential to compete in a best-of-three format, where first-set momentum and break-point conversion could prove decisive on the slower Parisian courts.
