Apple’s first foldable iPhone, widely expected to launch as the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models, is set for announcement at the September 9, 2026 event. Supply-chain reports and consistent analyst forecasts from sources like Ming-Chi Kuo and TrendForce point to a starting price above $2,000—most commonly in the $2,000–$2,500 range depending on storage—with higher configurations potentially reaching $2,900. This premium positioning reflects the technical challenges of a book-style design featuring a roughly 5.5-inch cover display that unfolds to about 7.8 inches, advanced hinge mechanisms aimed at minimizing crease visibility, and premium materials. Production remains limited initially, with mass output only recently ramping, which could constrain early availability even if the device reaches stores shortly after unveiling. The pricing aligns with Apple’s strategy to differentiate from Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup through superior display quality and iOS integration.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the first price publicly announced by Apple for a foldable iPhone for the US market is greater than or equal to the specified amount. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
The price used for resolution will be the starting price (USD) as first announced by Apple for the lowest-priced configuration of a foldable iPhone in the US market, before taxes, carrier subsidies, trade-in credits, promotional discounts, or bundled services. Prices announced for other regions or for higher storage configurations will not be used.
Any foldable smartphone announced by Apple will qualify as a foldable iPhone, even if it is not explicitly branded as an iPhone.
