National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate a high near 98°F for Austin on September 7 under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, with light southerly winds and minimal precipitation risk supporting strong daytime heating. This aligns with the current heat dome persisting across Texas, producing above-normal temperatures relative to the 1991–2020 average high of 93°F for the date. Recent observations show consecutive days in the mid-to-upper 90s with heat indices exceeding 106°F, reinforcing trader emphasis on the 98–99°F bin at 52.5% implied probability. Limited model spread and stable steering patterns reduce chances of significant deviation, though any unexpected cloud cover or moisture could cap the maximum in the mid-90s.
