Recent polling shows a highly fragmented field ahead of Berlin’s September 20 state election, with Die Linke, CDU, AfD, Greens, and SPD each polling in the mid-to-high teens and no party approaching a majority. The CDU’s late-July replacement of former Governing Mayor Kai Wegner with Finance Senator Stefan Evers, following criticism over the January power-grid blackout response, has kept that party’s prospects fluid while boosting visibility for challengers such as Elif Eralp (Left), Steffen Krach (SPD), Werner Graf (Greens), and Kristin Brinker (AfD). Trader consensus reflected in current pricing captures this uncertainty, as coalition arithmetic and last-minute shifts among swing voters could still reorder the ranking before election night.
