Gold (XAUUSD) trades near $4,570–$4,700 per ounce in mid-May 2026 after testing highs near $4,715 earlier in the month, with recent pullbacks driven by April U.S. CPI rising to 3.8%—above the 3.7% consensus—and firmer oil prices that have reduced expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts this year. A stronger U.S. dollar and higher real yields have weighed on the metal, while persistent central-bank purchases and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continue to anchor safe-haven bids. Traders are watching the May CPI release and June FOMC meeting for signals on the policy path, with institutional forecasts from J.P. Morgan still projecting averages above $5,000 by year-end amid ongoing reserve diversification.

In the event of a contract specification change, feed change, or similar structural modification affecting the market during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth.
The resolution source for this market is Pyth — specifically, the Gold (XAUUSD) "High" prices available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Metal.XAU%2FUSD, with the chart settings configured for 1-minute candles.
Historical 1-minute candles may be accessed by appending a Unix timestamp (seconds) to the Pyth chart URL using the "t=" parameter.
If the relevant Pyth data is unavailable due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption that prevents verification of the required 1-minute candle data, the official daily high price published for the relevant CME COMEX futures contract for the underlying metal—COMEX Gold Futures (GC)—may be used to determine whether the listed price was reached during the applicable trading session.
