Sustained sold-out showings and fan frenzy for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm have already prompted one extension through September 16, yet the market prices “no further extension” at 55.5% because only 25 U.S. screens can project the format and exhibitors must eventually rotate in new releases. Precedent from Oppenheimer, which received two extensions before yielding screens in early September 2023, underscores how quickly limited 70mm projectors cycle to other titles despite awards buzz. Traders weigh ongoing ticket queues and critical acclaim against these capacity constraints and the absence of any new extension announcement since late July, creating a narrow edge for the run ending on schedule.

The extension must be officially announced between this market's creation date and September 16, 2026, 11:59 PM ET to qualify.
A one-time special, encore, private, or otherwise isolated screening will not qualify. The regular public 70mm IMAX theatrical run must be extended beyond September 16, 2026 to qualify.
If only the standard digital IMAX run (not the 70mm film format) is extended, this market will resolve to "No".
An official extension announcement made within the qualifying window will immediately resolve this market to "Yes".
The resolution sources for this market will be official announcements from IMAX Corporation, Universal Pictures, or other authorized theatrical distributor.
