Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs show Houston's overnight low on September 10 most likely settling in the upper 70s, driven by a warm, humid air mass with southeast winds limiting radiative cooling and scattered afternoon storms adding moisture. Persistent high dew points near 75°F and minimal cold-air advection keep minimums well above the 1991–2020 average of 74°F, while variable cloud cover and any organized convection introduce modest uncertainty in exact overnight cooling rates. Trader positioning around the 90°F+ and sub-72°F tails reflects this range of possible model outcomes and the narrow window before resolution, with fresh forecast updates expected to narrow the distribution.
