Recent price declines in secondary market listings for Mega Dragonite ex variants from the Ascended Heroes set, including drops of $15–$30 on hyper rares and special illustration rares tracked by TCGPlayer and PriceCharting, have shaped trader sentiment toward a downward move by August 31. The dominant near-term catalyst is the August 28 release of Mega Forces Tins, which introduce fresh alternate-art promo versions of the card along with four booster packs each, increasing available supply just days before the resolution date. Collectors and investors are pricing in dilution risk typical of post-reprint windows, outweighing any lingering hype from the set’s earlier chase status. While box office-style sell-through data remains limited, historical TCG patterns show similar chase cards softening after mass-market tin drops.
