In Georgia's 1st congressional district, Republican primary voters delivered an outright majority to Jim Kingston on May 19, 2026, clearing the 50 percent threshold required to avoid a runoff and secure the nomination on the first ballot. Multiple candidates split the remaining vote, yet Kingston's margin reflected consolidated support among party voters in this safely Republican seat. Democratic primary results required a June 16 runoff, but the existence of at least one first-round majority outcome under state rules supports the current trader consensus. Late changes remain possible only through certified vote adjustments or unforeseen legal challenges to ballot eligibility, both rare at this stage.
