The expanded 48-team format divides nations into 12 groups of four, sending the top two finishers plus the eight strongest third-place sides into the Round of 32. Powerhouses benefit from favorable group draws and strong qualifying momentum, while hosts gain notable home and altitude advantages. Final international friendlies and squad announcements remain key variables that could shift implied probabilities, as depth and recent form continue to influence assessments of group-stage outcomes.
