**Pikachu ex (the Special Illustration Rare from the Ascended Heroes set) has cooled after its explosive early-2026 run.** The card’s understated woodland artwork by debut illustrator booota fueled collector frenzy, driving raw prices from roughly $480 in March to peaks above $1,300 by late May and establishing it as the set’s top chase ahead of expected heavy hitters like Mega Gengar ex. Recent TCGPlayer data and July reports show clear downward pressure, with notable drops including a $60 decline in one tracking period as initial hype faded and supply increased. With no major new sets, promotional events, or viral moments surfacing in the past month to reignite demand, traders view the market as entering a post-peak correction phase. The 69% implied probability for a lower price by August 31 reflects this momentum: the card’s outsized gains have normalized, and resolution thresholds (tracked via platforms like Collectr) now favor modest declines absent fresh catalysts before month-end.
