Trader consensus currently favors a price decline for the Mega Charizard X ex by August 31, with the market-implied odds sitting at 57.5% for "Down." The primary driver appears to be a broader correction in the Pokémon TCG secondary market, where increased supply from recent Mega Evolution product releases and restocks has outpaced collector demand following earlier 2026 spikes. Reports from late July and early August highlight weakening prices across popular chase cards as more sealed product and raw copies enter circulation, easing the supply constraints that fueled prior gains. Historical patterns show Charizard variants often experience short-term pullbacks after hype cycles tied to new sets, with TCGPlayer and auction data reflecting softening bids. Key near-term catalysts include ongoing weekly market updates and any late-August sales volume, though the card's strong nostalgia factor and limited-print appeal could support a rebound if demand surges unexpectedly.
