Recent Léger polling shows the Parti Québécois leading at 30% ahead of the October 5 election, while the Quebec Liberal Party and Coalition Avenir Québec sit tied at 23% for second place, with the Conservative Party of Quebec at 16% and Québec solidaire lower. Regional fragmentation sustains the contest: Liberals dominate Montreal ridings among anglophone and allophone voters, whereas francophone support elsewhere favors the PQ, CAQ, and PCQ in varying three-way races. Recent gains by the CAQ, driven by older voters, have narrowed the gap with the Liberals and reduced QS backing. High undecided shares and shifting second preferences among decided voters keep second-place positioning fluid, with campaign consolidation, turnout patterns, and targeted regional appeals likely to determine separation among contenders.
