Persistent northeast winds and lingering moisture from recent heavy rainfall are suppressing daytime heating across Chicago, with National Weather Service forecasts calling for a Tuesday high near 63°F under mostly cloudy skies and a slight shower chance. Multiple model runs and point forecasts cluster in the low-to-mid 60s, consistent with the market’s tight distribution across the 58–65°F bins that together exceed 70% implied probability. Cooler-than-normal conditions stem from a post-frontal air mass, well below the 1991–2020 average high of 73.5°F for the date. Limited model spread and stable steering patterns explain why probabilities remain evenly matched rather than concentrated on one outcome, with any last-minute clearing or wind shift able to nudge the official reading a degree or two.
