Traders assign the highest probability to a 64-65°F high in New York City on September 22 because the latest National Weather Service and NOAA model runs show a high-pressure ridge delivering northerly flow and mostly clear skies that limit daytime warming. The Global Forecast System and European models converge on afternoon maxima in the mid-60s, consistent with recent surface observations and the absence of strong southerly advection or significant moisture that could push readings higher. This setup aligns with a cooler-than-average late-September pattern driven by jet-stream positioning, though modest uncertainty remains around exact cloud cover and boundary-layer mixing. Morning forecast updates and official observations will determine the final recorded high for market resolution.
