Current forecasts from the National Weather Service and private models indicate a Thursday night low in San Francisco near 58–59°F for September 17, driven by moderate onshore flow from the Pacific and a thinning marine layer that limits radiational cooling. Partly cloudy conditions and light winds around 5–10 mph will allow some heat retention overnight, keeping minimums above the long-term September average of about 56°F. Trader consensus between the tightly matched 58–59°F and 60–61°F bins reflects model spread on exact cloud cover and dew-point levels, which directly influence how far temperatures fall before dawn. Updated NWS guidance and observational data on the 17th will resolve the outcome.
