Molly Gray secured the Democratic nomination for Vermont lieutenant governor in the August 2026 primary with roughly 61 percent of the vote, defeating Ryan McLaren and Esther Charlestin. As the former officeholder from 2021 to 2023, Gray enters the November general election against Republican incumbent John Rodgers with substantial name recognition and early polling leads in hypothetical matchups. Vermont’s voting patterns in recent cycles for this office have favored Democrats, shaping trader consensus reflected in the current market prices. Rodgers secured his party’s nomination unopposed but faces structural challenges in a state where Democrats have held the position in most recent elections. Limited new developments have emerged since the primaries, keeping focus on candidate profiles and turnout dynamics ahead of the general election.
