Alvaro Guillen Meza enters the Zagreb Challenger first-round clash on clay as the clear trader consensus favorite over local wild card Josip Simundza, driven by a massive ranking gap—ATP #230 versus #765—and Guillen Meza's established Challenger pedigree, including a recent Montevideo title amid mixed recent clay results like quarterfinal runs in Asuncion and early exits in Sao Leopoldo. Simundza, a 21-year-old Croatian lefty, has faltered in recent ITF M15/M25 events with quick losses in Porec and Reus, including a retirement. No head-to-head exists, but Guillen Meza's experience outweighs home-crowd boost and potential travel fatigue, shaping heavily lopsided implied probabilities absent injury reports or withdrawals.
