Count Binface, the novelty candidate from the Count Binface Party, holds a commanding lead in trader pricing for second place in the 13 August 2026 Clacton by-election because major parties including Labour, Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and Greens declined to stand after Nigel Farage’s resignation triggered the contest. With 34 candidates on the ballot—the record for a UK parliamentary election—Binface emerged as the clearest focal point for protest and tactical votes amid Reform UK’s local presence. Recent polling has shown Binface capturing 20–31% support in head-to-head or preference questions, far ahead of other listed independents and minor-party figures such as William Clouston or Laurence Fox. This positioning reflects the absence of conventional opposition and sustained media coverage of Binface’s campaign pledges. A late surge by another novelty entrant or unexpectedly high turnout among Reform supporters remain the main variables that could alter the ordering.
