Recent short-range forecasts from multiple models point to a cooler-than-average September 3 in Cape Town, with a daily maximum likely near 14–18°C amid light rain showers, stronger southeasterly winds, and increased cloud cover that limits daytime heating. These conditions stem from a passing Atlantic cold front interacting with the Benguela Current’s cooling influence on the region’s Mediterranean climate. Historical September highs average about 18°C, yet the narrow spread of market-implied odds around 14–20°C reflects genuine uncertainty in the precise peak, as small shifts in timing, wind speed, or precipitation intensity can alter the recorded maximum by several degrees. Updated runs from the South African Weather Service and global ensembles over the next 48 hours will likely drive any further movement in trader positioning.
