Avengers: Doomsday commands overwhelming trader consensus at 97% implied probability because its pre-sales have already surpassed $100 million domestically, with tracking data showing far higher awareness and interest than Dune: Part Three. The MCU’s historical opening-weekend dominance, Robert Downey Jr.’s return as Doctor Doom, and the Russo brothers’ proven track record with ensemble crossovers create a massive floor that even strong Dune momentum cannot realistically clear. Dune: Part Three benefits from critical acclaim, sold-out IMAX screenings, and franchise growth, yet its projected $100 million-plus domestic debut still trails Avengers expectations by a wide margin. An upset would require unusually poor Avengers reviews, a sharp pre-sale reversal, or an unprecedented Dune word-of-mouth surge—none of which current indicators support ahead of the December 18 release.
