Tamara Korpatsch enters as the higher-ranked contender at No. 87 against No. 125 Alina Charaeva in their first head-to-head clash during the WTA 125 Trophée Clarins Paris round of 16 on outdoor clay. Korpatsch, the top seed and 31-year-old veteran, advanced via a gritty three-set qualifying win over Ksenia Efremova last week, bolstering her 16-11 season record and strong clay form with a 70% win rate over her last 10 matches on the surface. The 23-year-old Charaeva, seed No. 3 and qualifier, counters with momentum from her 15-11 ledger and similar clay success (12-7 YTD), highlighting her rising threat potential. No injuries reported; cool, overcast Paris weather around 12-15°C with possible light rain could extend rallies and test endurance on the slower surface.
