Janice Tjen enters this WTA 250 first-round clay-court clash in Rabat as the clear favorite based on her top-50 ranking and recent results that include multiple wins on the surface. The Indonesian has shown strong baseline consistency and improved movement on clay this season, giving her a decided edge in rallies against lower-ranked opponents. Caijsa Hennemann, a Swedish player outside the top 250, arrives with positive momentum from qualifying wins but limited experience at this level and no prior head-to-head history with Tjen. Clay conditions and potential fatigue from the qualifying draw could further tilt the matchup, though Hennemann’s aggressive style offers realistic upset potential if she maintains first-strike opportunities early. The winner advances to face a seeded player in the next round.
