Liam Broady faces Gianluca Cadenasso in the first round of Roland Garros qualifying on outdoor clay, a surface that typically favors the 21-year-old Italian’s aggressive baseline game and recent career-high ranking near 196. Broady, the 32-year-old Brit ranked around 222, arrives with mixed recent results after capturing a hard-court Challenger title in Miyazaki earlier this year but dropping his most recent outing on clay. Cadenasso, still climbing the rankings with strong ITF and Challenger showings, benefits from natural clay-court comfort as a home-nation prospect, while Broady’s experience in best-of-three sets offers a counterbalance on the slower surface. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving recent form and surface adaptation as the primary drivers of trader sentiment.
