Kimi Antonelli holds a commanding 81-point lead in the 2026 Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship with 292 points after 14 rounds, including eight victories and 12 podiums for Mercedes. His recent Spanish Grand Prix win extended the advantage, building on earlier triumphs at Monza—where he charged from 19th on the grid—and consistent results at circuits like Miami, Monaco, and Canada. The Italian’s pole positions, fastest laps, and ability to convert front-row starts have outpaced teammates George Russell and rivals such as Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, and Max Verstappen amid the new technical regulations. With roughly nine races remaining, traders see limited scope for a turnaround unless Mercedes encounters sustained reliability issues or Antonelli suffers repeated setbacks that allow the chasing pack to close the gap rapidly.
