Santiago Wanderers and Cobreloa sit atop the 2026 Primera B table with 44 and 42 points after 24 matches, creating the tightest race for the runner-up spot that feeds into the liguilla playoff for the second promotion berth. Wanderers hold a narrow edge thanks to superior recent results and a strong home record, while Cobreloa remain dangerous with the league’s highest goal tally and a favorable upcoming home fixture against the leaders on September 26. A cluster of clubs from San Luis (41 points) through Unión Española (36) stay within striking distance for top-eight liguilla qualification, fueled by inconsistent form across the group and several teams with games in hand or favorable remaining schedules. This points compression and the high-stakes direct matchup keep implied probabilities for the runner-up tightly bunched around the top two sides.
