The IPO refers to the first sale of stock by the listed company to the public on any recognized stock exchange. If the listed company undergoes a merger, this will only qualify for a “No” resolution if the transaction results in the listed company being fully absorbed, dissolved, or otherwise no longer capable of independently conducting an Initial Public Offering. Transactions in which the listed company continues as a parent or successor will not alone qualify for a “No” resolution. This market will resolve early if the listed company completes an IPO by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. The resolution source for this market is a consensus of credible reporting.Strong IPO market momentum in 2026 underpins near-certain trader consensus for at least one listing before January 1, 2027. U.S. IPO activity has already produced 102 deals year-to-date through mid-August, with August pricings including multiple small- and mid-cap offerings and a robust pipeline of confidential S-1 filings from AI and tech names such as Anthropic (targeted as early as October) and OpenAI (potentially November). Supportive equity valuations, lower Treasury yields relative to 2024-2025 peaks, and sustained institutional demand for growth equities have kept issuance windows open. Key near-term catalysts include scheduled H2 2026 debuts and any FOMC signals on rates that could further influence risk appetite. While mega-cap timing remains fluid, routine smaller IPOs ensure resolution well before year-end absent an unprecedented market shutdown.
