Yashar, the centrist party founded by former IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot in 2025, has risen steadily in Israeli polls as a leading challenger to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Likud ahead of the October 27 Knesset election. Recent surveys place the two parties in a tight contest for the largest faction, with Yashar often polling at 22–24 seats and Likud nearby, reflecting voter focus on security, an inquiry into the October 7 attacks, and government reform. The race stays narrow due to fragmented opposition blocs, shifting alliances such as Bennett-Lapid’s Together party, and uncertainty over smaller lists clearing the electoral threshold. Late-campaign events—including final candidate list submissions by September 9, security developments, or coalition negotiations—could widen or narrow Yashar’s projected seat range in the coming weeks.
