Bengt Bergqvist, the current chair of the regional board (regionstyrelsens ordförande) for Region Jämtland Härjedalen and Social Democrats representative, holds an 88% implied probability as traders price in his incumbency ahead of the September 13, 2026, Swedish regional elections. The market resolves to the individual formally elected by the new regional council to lead the board, with any interim appointment excluded and a March 2027 cutoff applying if no successor is seated. Vice chairs Robert Hamberg (Moderates) and Lars-Erik Olofsson (Christian Democrats) trade at single-digit levels, reflecting their opposition roles and limited recent polling shifts. No major party realignments, candidate announcements, or policy developments have altered positioning in the past month, leaving the contest centered on post-election coalition negotiations and seat distribution in the 51-member council.
