Early buzz from industry insiders and trade coverage has positioned Julianne Moore in Jesse Eisenberg’s “The Debut” and Sandra Hüller in “Fatherland” as the clearest frontrunners, reflected in their leading market-implied odds near 25%. Positive early word on Moore’s performance and Hüller’s consistent critical acclaim create initial momentum, while Inde Navarrette’s turn in “Obsession” and Renate Reinsve in “Fjord” trail as emerging contenders with strong precursor potential. With the 2026 eligibility window still unfolding and major fall festivals ahead, the wide field of 50%+ longshots underscores high uncertainty before guild screenings, critics’ awards, and final campaign narratives sharpen voter sentiment.
