The 2026 NFL season's scrimmage yards race remains wide open early on, with traders assigning nearly identical implied probabilities to dozens of running backs and wide receivers. No single player has separated through the first few weeks, as preseason depth charts, training camp performances, and initial injury reports have kept most candidates healthy and in similar usage projections. Factors like offensive scheme fit, target share for pass-catchers, and early workload distribution for bell-cow backs have yet to create clear edges, while historical season-long volatility in rushing and receiving volume supports the bunched pricing. The wisdom of crowds reflected in these levels highlights schedule strength, potential midseason trades, and the risk of injuries as key variables that could shift the field before meaningful separation occurs.
