Tyler Robinson faces aggravated murder and related felony charges in Utah for the September 2025 shooting death of Charlie Kirk. Prosecutors presented forensic evidence including DNA matches on the recovered rifle, surveillance video of the shooter’s movements, and text messages during a July 2026 preliminary hearing. The judge has not yet ruled on probable cause to bind the case over for trial, and no trial date has been set. With the market resolving by December 31, 2026, traders assign roughly 40% odds of conviction because the timeline for a full capital trial, potential plea negotiations, evidentiary challenges, or procedural delays makes a verdict within the window improbable. Utah’s death-penalty process and any subsequent appeals would further extend resolution beyond the cutoff.
