Presidential elections are scheduled to be held in Bulgaria on October 25, 2026, with a second round on November 1, 2026. A second round will be held if no candidate secures more than half of the valid votes in the first round, or if a candidate secures more than half of the valid votes but voter turnout is not more than half of registered voters. This market will resolve to "Yes" if any candidate wins this election outright in the first round. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If the result of the first round of this election isn't known by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "No". This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Bulgarian government, specifically the Central Election Commission (Centralna izbiratelna komisia, CEC) (www.cik.bg/).**No candidate is expected to secure an outright first-round victory in Bulgaria’s October 25, 2026 presidential election.** The two-round system requires a candidate to win more than 50 percent of the vote or achieve that share with turnout above 50 percent; otherwise a runoff follows on November 1. No candidate has ever won outright under this rule. Early polling from Global Metrics placed the leading contender—Iliana Iotova, the incumbent backed by the dominant Progressive Bulgaria party—at roughly 40 percent, with Andrey Gyurov (supported by PP-DB) and other registered candidates trailing significantly behind. Twenty-six candidate pairs have now registered, further fragmenting the vote. These structural and polling realities underpin traders’ strong consensus against a first-round winner.
