Futuro Nazionale, founded in February 2026 by former Lega MEP and army general Roberto Vannacci, has shown consistent upward momentum in Italian voting intention surveys since its launch and formal registration as a party. Multiple July 2026 polls place the new far-right movement at 6–7.6 percent, ahead of or level with Lega at 5.7–6.2 percent, after first overtaking its former affiliate in June surveys. The party draws support from voters within the governing center-right bloc, particularly on issues of stricter immigration enforcement and national sovereignty, while Lega has struggled to regain ground lost to the split. With the next general election due no later than December 2027, current polling trends and the sustained trajectory of Futuro Nazionale underpin trader expectations that it will finish ahead of Lega on election day.
