Arthur Gea enters the Hamburg European Open qualification round as the clear favorite against Mika Petkovic, reflecting his higher ATP ranking near 143 and prior experience at the tour level. The 21-year-old Frenchman brings a recent 3-2 record on the main circuit, including competitive showings against established players, while the 19-year-old German Petkovic arrives on strong ITF form after multiple wins in recent M15 events on clay. Both players favor the slower surface that defines this event, but Gea’s superior ranking and head-to-head edge in comparable matches underpin the market’s implied probability. Home-crowd support for Petkovic and his improving consistency could produce a tight opener, though Gea’s overall depth positions him to advance barring any early lapses in concentration.
