This market will resolve according to the change in the total nonfarm payroll employment reported by the BLS "Employment Situation Summary" for August 2026, scheduled to be released on September 4, 2026, at 8:30 AM ET. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month. The BLS "Employment Situation Summary" may be found here: https://www.bls.gov/bls/newsrels.htmRecent weakness in July nonfarm payrolls, which unexpectedly declined 23,000 amid downward revisions to prior months and stable 4.1% unemployment, has introduced notable uncertainty into August expectations. This follows stronger May gains of 172,000 but aligns with broader cooling signals, including subdued hiring rates and sector softness in government and retail. Traders appear divided on whether the labor market will rebound toward 150,000-plus additions or remain subdued in the 0-100k range, reflecting debates over seasonal factors, potential policy impacts, and resilience in health care and leisure. The September 4 release looms as the key catalyst, with implied probabilities underscoring closely contested views on momentum.
