This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 8 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.HKO's 9-day forecast indicates a minimum of 28°C on August 8 under mainly fine conditions with weak west-to-northwest winds and isolated showers possible later, aligning with the market's near-even split between 27°C and 28°C. Nighttime radiative cooling under clear or partly cloudy skies, modulated by urban heat island effects and boundary-layer moisture, determines whether the low reaches the lower or upper end of the 27–28°C range typical for August. Model consensus from regional ensembles shows limited spread in steering patterns and no strong tropical influence yet, leaving the precise minimum sensitive to small changes in cloud cover or wind speed overnight. Historical August minima average near 26–27°C, but current above-normal seasonal guidance and very hot daytime maxima support trader focus on these two outcomes ahead of final observations.
