**Official National Weather Service forecasts for San Francisco on September 17, 2026, point to overnight lows in the upper 50s to low 60s Fahrenheit, aligning closely with the market's leading outcomes of 60-61°F and 58-59°F.** Persistent marine-layer influence from the cold California Current and coastal upwelling maintains moderate nighttime temperatures, while a weakening temperature inversion and light onshore flow limit radiative cooling. Historical September averages near 56°F provide context, yet current model consensus shows slightly milder conditions without strong offshore winds or clear-sky extremes that could push readings lower. Traders appear to weigh these NWS guidance updates heavily, as fresh forecast runs and local observations refine the expected minimum before resolution.
