Recent National Weather Service and private forecast models indicate Atlanta will remain under a warm, humid air mass with mostly sunny skies and light winds on September 5, supporting afternoon highs in the mid-90s. This setup, following several consecutive days with readings near 95°F, favors a peak temperature of 94–97°F as the most probable range. Heat indices could reach 104°F, but any isolated afternoon thunderstorms are unlikely to alter the daily maximum substantially. Trader consensus reflected in the 36% probability for 96–97°F and 24.5% for 98–99°F aligns with current guidance relative to the 86°F climatological average and 98°F all-time record for the date, with limited upside beyond 99°F unless models trend warmer in the final 24 hours.
