Current NWS and model guidance point to a highest temperature near 68–70°F for San Francisco on September 2, driven by moderate onshore southwest flow, a shallow marine layer, and typical late-summer upwelling that caps daytime warming along the coast. Historical averages near 69.6°F provide context, yet small differences in marine-layer depth, cloud cover timing, and wind speed among ensemble members create the narrow spread between the market’s leading 70–73°F and 72–73°F bins. Traders are weighting the chance of modest clearing or slightly stronger offshore influence that could add a degree or two, while recognizing that persistent stratus or stronger westerlies would favor the lower side of the range.
