This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the San Francisco International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 9 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=ksfo This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Trader sentiment for San Francisco’s September 9 high centers on the 90–93°F range (combined ~49% implied probability), driven by an ongoing Bay Area heat wave that has suppressed the usual marine layer and sea breeze.** Official National Weather Service and local forecasts show a mostly sunny day with highs near 84–89°F at coastal or airport sites (e.g., SFO around 88–89°F) but low-to-mid 90s possible in downtown or eastern neighborhoods where the cooling onshore flow arrives late or weakly. Historical September averages hover around 71°F, so this event represents a 15–20°F anomaly fueled by a thinned marine layer, light/variable winds shifting northwest only in the afternoon, and regional high pressure allowing strong solar heating. The close spread among 90–91°F, 92–93°F, and 94–95°F outcomes reflects model and microclimate uncertainty: exact peak timing, urban heat-island effects, and whether a late sea breeze caps the high before it reaches the upper 90s. Lower-probability bins (below 88°F or 96°F+) receive minimal market weight because current observations and short-range guidance show little support for either a strong early marine intrusion or extreme inland spillover. Updated NWS and mesoscale model runs later today will be the key catalysts for any rapid repricing.
